Staff Appreciation

Volunteers provide four luncheons throughout the school year for our teachers and staff. You may help out when you can, as often as you like. You may sign up to bring in items for the meals/treats or sign up to come serve the staff, or set up and tear down for a few hours that day. Co-Chairs organize the event, set the dates, secure the rooms, and set the menu. Staff contacts include the Front Office Secretary and the Head Custodian.

Volunteers Needed!  Please email hhsparentclubfw@gmail.com if you are able to help.

SAT/ACT For Practice

Committee volunteers work the registration table. Co-Chairs work prior to test day securing rooms/facility use forms, setting test dates/test review dates, securing volunteers for the dates etc. They also work with Sylvan Learning Center and communicate with families/students about testing dates and test review dates.

Honor Roll Recognition

The Honor Roll Recognition is held once each semester (generally October and February). Volunteers help to sort certificates alphabetically and to bag cookies the day before the honor roll recognition day.  Volunteers can also handout the certificates to the students during the approximately 2 hour lunch time in the cafeteria on the day of the recognition. Chair/co-chairs work primarily with the Homestead Registrar to determine details for the recognition day including information for the HHS newsletter. They also create a Sign Up Genius volunteer request page and order cookies through SACS Food Services.  Contact Staff Registrar (Student Services), Principal's Secretary, Director of Food Services, and Homestead Cafeteria Manager.

Academic Awards Night

Held in May. This is a one night event that lasts approximately 3 hours. The Chair and committee works several weeks prior to the event organizing and implementing details including completing the facility use form, sending invitations, and providing refreshments and working with staff to ensure a successful event. The staff contacts are Assistant Principal Jen Bay, the Front Office Secretary, the Head Janitor and the Head Cafeteria Staff.

Copy Room & Office Volunteers

Volunteers are utilized in the teacher workroom to assist staff with all of their copying and collating needs. Volunteers work once a month, once a week or fill in as needed.  These volunteer positions take the place of a paid staff. Our teachers were grateful for and rely on our daily volunteers to run copies, collate and bind when necessary. Chairperson is responsible for organizing and keeping calendar of shift work for copy room and training new volunteers. Volunteer training is available.   Click here to sign up!

Teacher Grants

Volunteers are responsible for reviewing and grading grant applications. Committee members and the PTC at large vote on staff grant applications. Chair organizes and manages details of the grant application process including notifying teachers of the grant period and grant specifications/requirements, organizing grant applicants, presenting grant applications at a Parent Club meeting for vote, reviewing grant applications for completeness, emailing/communicating with grant recipients.

Senior Bucket List Scholarships

Volunteers serve on a committee that is responsible for reviewing and grading scholarship applications. Committee members then vote and grant these scholarships. Chairs organize and manage details of the grant application and granting process. Presentation of scholarship to be on Senior Activity Day and/or Academic Awards Night. Staff contact: Assistant Principal Jen Bay, Student Services and Staff Representative for announcements.  Volunteers Needed!  Please email hhsparentclubfw@gmail.com if you are able to help.
